Nestled amongst fields and trees offering serenity for the owners, this charming school house conversion is located in a rural area just outside of the Waterloo Region. I have had the pleasure of visiting this adorable school house which has been converted to a residential home. The owners have spent a lot of time renovating and planning, and I am sure many more projects are in the works for the future.
The school was built in 1883, and was officially closed in the late 60’s. Subsequently the school house was purchased and the conversion to a residential home began. An addition was put on the side of the house to accomodate a master bedroom, bathroom and upstairs laundry.
When the current owners purchased the schoolhouse in the early 2000’s, the trim had been painted to blend in with the brick. Their very first project was to tackle painting the exterior trim to make the building “look happier”.
